Happy 2nd Birthday, Noah!

My baby boy turned 2 today! I couldn't help but go through pictures from the day he was born and just be amazed at how he turned from this tiny helpless human being into such a big kid with lots of personality.

We had been talking about his upcoming birthday for a few weeks now, so when his special day was finally here and we woke him up by singing Happy Birthday, he knew exactly what was happening.
He kept talking about the fact that it was his birthday and that he's two now. I'm glad we created all this excitement about it beforehand; I really think it made the day more special for him since he was so aware of the fact that today was his birthday.

We started the day with pancakes and strawberries and signing Happy Birthday a few times. So much in fact that while we were getting ready for school he started singing: "Happy birthday to you..happy birthday to Noah....happy birthday to mommy...". I then dropped him off at daycare with some snacks and toys for his class. I worked from home today so I would have more time to spend with the birthday boy. When Tony and Noah came home, we ate his birthday cake that Noah and I had made the evening before.

We then opened presents, and he loved each and every one so much that it was hard to keep him on track.

He got a few new books ("Wow, we're gonna read it right now?"), a soccer ball and a basketball ("We're gonna bounce it?"), a firetruck ("I got a firetruck!!!!") and a tractor (with a wagon!), some candy (apparently somebody thinks that's how you make sure to be the favorite aunt), insect flash cards (he loves flash cards and they were $1 at Target!), and a balance bike (he saw part of the wheel poking out and immediately yelled happily "a bicycle!!!"). It was so much fun to watch him get so excited with each present he opened.

He's still a bit too short for the bike, but we took it out for a ride anyway and he had so much fun. He's going to love it even more when he is tall enough to ride it on his own.

He really couldn't get enough of everything and was just so happy with all the cool new fun things he got.

A great day to turn two. Happy birthday my little weasel worm!
